This is the first time I’ve seen an orca in the wild so I was definitely on a high. I spotted this one in front of the starboard bow south of Narsaq, Greenland and it was moving very fast. By the time I’d found it in my viewfinder, it was travelling quickly away from the ship and I could see some considerable turmoil in the water, together with at least one other smaller animal. I’m thinking male and female as the dorsal fin of the male is around twice the size of the female at 1.8 metres but I’m not sure what the commotion was about. Maybe hunting/feeding, or maybe the smaller one was not an orca, but prey…
