An hour at RSPB Fairburn Ings

I called at Fairburn Ings for a very short visit yesterday and amused myself in one of the hides for an hour.  A few sand martins were still feeding young in the wall cavities, juvenile great spotted woodpecker and chaffinch visited the feeders and a cock pheasant had a dust bath.  In the distance, the water had almost disappeared in the heat and a pair of little egrets had a big altercation.
