Its’ a while since I wrote about the tawny owls that live around our house. The adult pair raised two healthy chicks this year and they’re doing well. I hear them every night in the wood opposite, or in our garden, and the male parent continues to collect a couple of day old chicks each night to supplement their feeding through the night. The parent now comes to my call and it’s rather special to have him fly in so close to me.
Here, I’ve put together some of my favourite shots of him, plus a daytime image taken in May 2018 of who, I think, is his parent sitting in a tree in my neighbour’s garden.
