Adel Dam

For the first time, I visited Adel Dam, near Leeds, today and froze inside one of their hides for a couple of hours.  But with its nice lakes and woodland it was definitely worth a visit.  A kingfisher was showing well, mandarin ducks are plentiful and there’s always room for a shot of a black-headed gull and a heron.  I’m afraid that all this beautiful British weather that we’ve been having lulled me into a false sense of security and I was hardly dressed for the cold when I arrived.   Next time, I’ll take a warmer coat and stay longer…
