There were butterflies just about everywhere on our India trip. I thought I had managed to identify most off them but I now find I’m not as efficient as I thought I was. However, the featured image is my favourite, the common jezebel, and we also have here (I think) the dallied eggfly, blue pansy, not sure about the one with orange tips, lime, common leopard, grass yellow, tawny coster, common wanderer and baronet orange. Don’t quote me on any of these since I am not a butterfly expert. I just like taking their photographs.
You will have noticed two mango leaves and the challenge is to spot the caterpillar. It is the caterpillar of the common baron butterfly and is doing its very best to remain inconspicuous! Amazing cricket?
