There are limited land birds to find in Iceland and Greenland, particular when your visits are brief and dictated by the arrival and departure of a cruise ship. Whenever we had the chance, we walked and sought out the local wildlife. The majestic white-tailed eagles were visible on a couple of occasions but never close enough for a decent chance of a photo. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed these few species – common starling, snow bunting and chick, ruddy turnstone, raven, purple sandpiper, oystercatcher and lapland bunting.
