On our Antarctic trip we saw loads of humpbacks – always my favourite whale due to their habit of performing for the camera. We saw around 100 in one day while cruising the Weddel Sea and many of these images were taken there. The humpback’s flippers are around a third the length of their body and they love flapping them about. Note the whale alongside the iceberg with the adelie penguins. That picture gives you some idea of their size.
