Early morning forage

While I was out owl hunting this morning in Gawthorpe, a wood pigeon and a painted lady landed outside my hide.  Note the difference between the upper and undersides of the butterfly’s wings.  When I got home, I paid a quick visit to the local ponds and found a singing chiffchaff and a hunting jay.
