A very much alive minke whale showing as much as minke whales normally do, and a very much dead whale providing sustenance for seabirds in the North Atlantic off Greenland. If I were to guess, I’d say the whale was a sperm, only because of its size and because there is no sign of the typical rorqual pleats on the underside of a large baleen whale. Of course, I may be wrong because it has probably been a food source for some days and this activity will inevitably have an effect on its appearance. Tell me if you know different…
