We were looking forward to a great whale watching experience at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, but the weather and the harbour master were against us. Instead, we watched the whale action from the ship, moored just outside the harbour. Once the wind subsided we found our way into the harbour in the ship’s lifeboats and there we found this beautiful brown pelican, a gila’s woodpecker, a juvenile black-crowned night heron and a snowy egret which was poking about in the rocks after small crustaceans.
