After our trip to the island of Carna, Western Scotland, we rented a cottage on the Ardnamurchan peninsula. Each night a pine marten came into the garden, foraging for leftovers from the bird table. These nocturnal animals are usually quite difficult to spot so this was a great opportunity to bag an image or two, despite the visits coinciding with nightfall. Across the stream from the cottage, roe deer, fallow deer and reindeer grazed in the grounds of the Ardnamurchan estate, and one evening when I was watching, this red fox turned up on a hunting trip. I photographed the red deer near to the lighthouse at Ardnamurchan point.
