At Ding Darling wildlife preserve on Sanibel Island, Florida, American white pelicans and other waders gather on the sandbanks when the tide is low. Here, there are snowy egrets, roseate spoonbills, willet, white ibis, little blue heron. double crested cormorants and brown pelicans. The urgent flight of the whole flock was caused by a couple of paddle boarders, approaching the flock in an area closed for public access.
