Spring is in the air!

The weather certainly changed for the better this weekend.  At Ladywood lakes, Mirfield, and Bretton Park spring was definitely in the air.  The treecreeper was in and out of its nest behind the bark of an old oak, herons have young on the nest at the heronry, the great crested grebes are going about their business troubling no-one else but the fish, and the coots and Canada geese are in defensive mode.  Buds are springing open, we saw fieldfare in the park (they’ll be going soon), and a chiffchaff was singing from the treetops.  All the other birds are looking their best for attracting a mate.

This is a great time to get out and watch the show!
