Rufous hummingbird

This tiny (less than 4″ from head to tail) rufous hummingbird winters in southern Mexico and has flown all the way to southeastern Alaska for summer.  Here it is visiting a feeder in a garden in the tiny village of Elfin Cove, where in winter the human population reduces to 6-10 from the couple of hundred residents and fishermen who fish the surrounding waters in summer.
